As of October 1st, 2024, Alberta Children’s Hospital will no longer supply tube-feeding formulas for most FSCD patients.
Due to new policy guidelines, FSCD coverage for enteral formula is now contract-based and subject to approval. Fortunately, Kenron Pharmacy, as an approved FSCD vendor, can directly bill FSCD for eligible families. We supply a range of formulas, including Peptamen and Compleat, and offer free city-wide delivery to ensure timely and convenient access.
If you are a parent of a child needing tube-feeding formula, here is the process:
First, contact us with your child’s name, the specific product they use, and the required quantity per month or year. It is important to ensure the amount matches the nutritionist’s letter provided to FSCD. However, if your child’s usage exceeds this amount, you should obtain an updated letter and submit it to FSCD to avoid delays.
After we receive your information, we will provide a quote for the formula. Next, share this quote with your FSCD case worker. They will then add a clause to your agreement to cover the formula cost. Once your agreement updates, we need verification of approval to proceed with delivery. You can either send us a copy of the updated agreement or have your FSCD caseworker email us confirmation.
Upon receiving approval, we will promptly schedule monthly deliveries to your doorstep. Please note that FSCD guidelines may require a parent payment of up to $118 per month.
